How to create a fixed eye in 3/8 Amsteel Blue. This is for trail repairs when you have limited access to tools and materials. The process is the same for any diameter Amsteel Blue other than different bury lengths. 5/16 would be 13″, 3/8 would be 16″, 7/16 would be 18.5″. I have tested this extensively using half of each suggested bury length in a locked brummel and all have held while the failure occurs in the line. I would suggest replacing the whipping with the lock stich, or performing a locked brummel when you return from your trip.
